The beginning is simple! To start flying in your computer you have to choose a flight simulator to get started.
But here's the question. Today we have some flight simulators. So which one to choose?
I am giving you three options here ( for a real simulation in my opinion, but you can find some others flight simulators out there) so I need now explain you which one is the best for you.
X-PLANE 11

This is the next generation of the x-plane so if you heard about or actually use old versions of X-PLANE you really need to take a look at this beautiful sim. You can also extend it with many addons.

Now if don't have a machine powerful enough to run X-PLANE 11 there is still another chance for you dive in this world. Let me introduce you the FSX. Let's have a look at this one.
FSX ( Microsoft Flight Simulator X )
FSX was possibly the first flight simulator of the majority of flight simmers. FSX is an older flight simulator and was popular for a long time and today I think it is still a good option for anyone interested and also it runs in many computers. Using DirectX9 it is a fps friendly for older machines. So no need of a powerful machine for this one.
The graphics aren't the best in front of newer simulators but it's still perfect for what it was develop. But if you really want to have a good simulation experience you will have to extend it a lot with many addons. This include addons to improve the adverse weather condition simulation, addons to improve physics (specially if you want to fly helicopters) and also you will have to buy aircrafts for your sim. Why? Well, the default aircrafts are just ok to learn things like navigation and the basics of flying. But if you really want to experience a great flight and dive deep in aircraft systems you will have to search for payware addons.

DCS ( Digital Combat Simulator )
If you passion is military flights this is for you.
This simulator is really awesome. But again you will need a powerful machine to run it. But it's completely worth it. I can't tell you many things about this one because I don't have personal experience with it. But just like you I also search a lot about these games and I found this the best one for combat simulator and the aircrafts are really realistic.
If you have such a powerful computer don't be afraid of trying this one. And guess what? It's totally free to play. If you wanna more aircrafts then you will have to buy these. But take a closer look a this game
